Visiting (research) students is a program open to students who are currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate school outside of Japan and who are majoring in science, engineering, or related fields.
If you wish to conduct research activities at our Graduate School of Science and Technology under the supervision of our faculty members, you may study under the category of a "Visiting (Research) student".
・Applicants must be enrolled in a undergraduate/graduate degree program (master's or doctoral) at an overseas university.
・Applicants must contact a prospective academic advisor and get permission from him/her to study under his/her supervision before submitting their applications.
The research period of Visiting (Research) students can be up to six months.
One month to six months will be considered as one term, if you extend your stay to more than six months, you will need to pay the registration fee again.
If you plan to do the research for more than six months, you can apply after the enrollment through your supervisor in Keio University.
However, if you cancel or want to change the period later, the fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
You must belong to a(n) university/educational institution during the whole study period at Keio University. Your study period at Keio University cannot exceed the enrollment period at your home institution. Thus, if you are looking for a research internship during a gap year or after graduation, we cannot accept you as a Visiting (research) student.
Successful applicants will be registered at Keio University as an International Visiting Research Student (non-regular, non-degree-seeking student). A student ID card will be issued during the registered period in Keio. Visiting (research) students cannot attend lecture courses or receive official academic records/credits from Keio University.
Successful applicants will have access to the Keio University Media Center - one of the most renowned university libraries in Japan.
