The students of the Faculty of Science and Technology spend their 1st and 2nd year at the Hiyoshi Campus and 3rd and 4th year at the Yagami Campus. The Hiyoshi Campus is located right in front of Hiyoshi Station of the Tokyu-Toyoko Line. Campus size is 84 acres. On the other hand, the Yagami Campus, dedicated to the Faculty of the Science and Technology, rests on a hill which takes few minutes walk from the Hiyoshi Campus.

14th Building: "Sosokan"

14th Building:

14th Building is a symbolic tower of Yagami campus, named “Sosokan,” meaning the House of Creation and Imagination. The building is 7 stories high, on a hilltop overlooking Shinjuku sub-center, Yokohama Minato Mirai, and Mt. Fuji. In the West Annex, “La Poire” (a cafe/store) which holds a grand piano and a seminar room are located. East Annex has facilities such as a forum and a multimedia room.

15th Building, also known as “Matsushita Memorial Library,” was named after Konosuke Matsushita who had contributed to its establishment. The bright and spacious lounge in the 1st Floor of 14th Building is connected all the way to the basement of 16th-D Building. It stores collection of 360,000 books.

11th Building, located at the front of campus, consists of lecture halls. 22nd Building, located on the right, consists of labs and experimental facilities of the Department of Physics and Department of Applied Chemistry.

1st-Basement is a Co-op store. You can purchase books, foods, stationery, computers, holiday brochures, license booklets, and all other grocery goods. 1st and 2nd floor is a Co-op cafeteria. Students, faculty and staff gather here to enjoy their meals. 3rd floor is a Health Center.

Laboratories and experimental facilities of various fields, students’ offices, and the central examination hall are located in this area. The buildings are connected all the way through by an endless hallway. On rainy days, you can walk to the other buildings using the 3rd-floor connecting corridors.

Students practice for the PE Festival hosted by the Faculty of Science and Technology or hold interlaboratory softball/futsal tournaments. Shinkansen (Bullet Train) runs right underneath the Sports Ground.

This facility aims to lead the way in the fundamentals of Science and Technology through advanced research activities and high-quality education. It is also the new hub for joint research activities with external institutions.

In addition to student laboratories for mechanical systems, industrial engineering, and chemistry, the 34th Building houses a design manufacturing center with the latest equipment and facilities to support manufacturing.

36th Building: Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Center

It is the largest building that houses classrooms. 4th Building is located at the end of the famous cherry blossom tree lines. Cherry blossom trees stretch from Hiyoshi Station to 4th building. Students’ offices and Hiyoshi Communication Lounge (used for academic activities) are in this building.

4th Building is one of the major lecture halls on Hiyoshi Campus and it is connected to the Independence Wing. Students get together or play music at the open space in front of the building.

All the students, who consider moving up to Yagami, Mita, Shinanomachi, and Shiba-Kyoritsu Campuses, mainly use this libraryThe library has a collection of 760,000 books. It holds variety of books from specialty books, novels, travel guidebooks, and more.

Raiosha

Raiosha is the building of laboratories on Hiyoshi Campus. Numerous events are held at this entrance hall. It has open-ceiling and the symposium hall.

“Co-op Cafeteria” is in the 1st floor. “Greens Marche,” “Saboten Express,” and “G's Cafe” are in the 2nd floor. There are other cafeterias on Hiyoshi Campus including “Greens Terrace” (6th Building), “Faculty Lounge” (Raiosha).

"Basic Education in Science and Technology" classes are available in this building for students who prepare to take specialized courses on the Yagami Campus. Hiyoshi Information Technology Center, which manages the Hiyoshi campus network services, is also in the same building.

The hall was established as commemoration for 100th anniversary of the university. Enrollment ceremonies, graduation ceremonies, and other significant events are held here. The hall used for athletic activities on a daily basis.

Athletics Field is a certified 4th class field by The Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF). It can be used as an official field for recording athletic performance. It is the world’s first registered athletic field which adopts an artificial lawn. It can hold throwing events such as javelin throw.

In addition to three independent graduate schools, it is held open to public facilities such as a music hall, indoor pool with a diving board, house cafes and athletic facilities.
