On August 30 (Thurs.), 7 students from Beihang University, a partner university of the Graduate School of Science and Technology, visited laboratories at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology.

This visit, which was arranged in response to a request by the Beihang University students to visit laboratories doing work in aerospace fields, saw them tour laboratories headed by Professors Akiko Matsuo and Genya Ishigami . To start, the professors gave overviews of research being carried out at their respective laboratories, with the visiting students subsequently shown lab equipment and engaging in discussions with their Keio counterparts based at the laboratories. The students from Beihang University asked many questions and there was a lively exchange of opinions.

To conclude their visit, the students visited the Manufacturing Center which houses the latest processing equipment. The students from Beihang University expressed their admiration for the laboratories and facilities at Keio and invited Keio members to visit Beihang University should the opportunity arise, making this visit a fruitful one towards the strengthening of the partnership.
