Introduction of
Research

This laboratory focuses on study of human language.

Work is in progress on the Japanese FrameNet Project to

build an online Japanese language database which

classifies Japanese words and constructions according to

cognitive frames that underlie them. The Japanese

FrameNet database contains semantically annotated

example sentences taken from electronic corpora and is

currently being linked to various other natural language

resources, making it useful for humans and for various

natural language processing applications.
