The 6th Yagami Festival was held

Updated November 04, 2005

The 6th Yagami Festival was held under the theme of “COLORS”at the Yagami Campus between 15th and 16th of October 2005.

Although the sky was not clear, the Yagami Campus was so “colorful” with various kinds of events: demonstration of research work of each laboratory, lecture sessions, musical performance, beauty contests, a haunted house, refreshment stands and free-markets.

Under the dark sky, visitors were about 5,000, as compared with 6,000 last year. Such flourishy time with choral singing by Yagami Elementary School students and Miss and Mr. Beauty Contests came into the final stage with shooting-up of fireworks.

Among refreshment booths, there were “entrepreneur shops” carried by students enrolled in the “Entrepreneur Fosterage Endowment Program” sponsored by Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd.
In the program, students learn basic knowledge necessary to found a company, management skills and know-how, as well as living experiences of inauguration of business. As part of living experiences of inauguration of business, students set up booths at the Yagami Festival through the process: Business plan competition (for investment) → Establishment of business (registry) →Raising of capital (investment from the venture capital and management shareholders) → Buying-in and preparation for the store → Operation (at the Yagami Festival) →Account settlement → General shareholders meeting →Dividend distribution →Closing of business → Debrief and Review session.
